What constitutes the mind? We seem to each have subjective knowledge about this most mysterious and endearing faculty of the human race. We’re also aware of how little is actually really known about it. When you deliberate the word mind what are some of the things that you first think of (thinking precisely being one of those things)? Perhaps you think of imagination, consciousness, perception, memory, intelligence, language. Or maybe you think of the mind-body problem, the physicality of the brain, stream of consciousness, death and the soul, human behaviour and mental illnesses, indoctrination – rather relevant to our times. Or, the far more inexplicable – paranormal phenomena like telekinesis and telepathy, and controversial – the non-human mind and AI.

Over the next 3 years, The Story of Mind will be a deeply engaging learning journey, an experiment, if you will, that takes us through the intricacies of this curious subject. Through multiple engagements, iterations and standpoints, we will begin to unravel our understanding of this expansive theme with interdisciplinary and multi-perspective experiences, emerging from art, culture, philosophy and science.
The ‘Mind’ will come alive through the thematic branches of Identity, Artificial Intelligence, Ecology, Mental Health and Mind-Body-Spirit.
